LAHORE: Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz spoke at the Punjab Culture Day Ceremony at Alhamra Arts Council on Thursday.
Maryam Nawaz highlighted the importance of Punjabi culture, requesting the youth to feel proud to speak the Punjabi language while also urging them to learn English.
She mentioned Punjab and its traditions as essential to Pakistan’s identity.
During the ceremony of Punjab Culture Day, Maryam Nawaz lauded the matchless enthusiasm of Punjabi music and dance, particularly Bhangra.
She stated respect and esteem for the cultural pride displayed by the people of Türkiye and commended Minister for Information and Culture Azma Zahid Bokhari for organising the event.
The Punjab CM also expressed her promise to back up the province’s artists and shared her plans to enhance their welfare.
Maryam Nawaz also spoke about the economic progress which has been achieved by the government, adding that inflation has come down, foreign investment has gone up, and the Pakistan Stock Exchange is accomplishing new records.
She concluded the Punjab Culture Day Ceremony by reiterating her devotion to public welfare, focusing on affordable essentials, education, and healthcare.
Maryam Nawaz urged parents to instil pride in the Punjabi language among children, emphasising its cultural significance. She prayed for Punjab’s continued prosperity and happiness.

Earlier, Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif approved Rs15 billion for farmers of the province under the wheat support fund under the Kisan Card program.
Wheat farmers were given direct financial support through the Kisan Card. The Punjab government termed the package as the ‘first unique, exemplary, and unprecedented’ in the history of the province for the wheat farmers in Punjab.
It has been decided to implement the Electronic Warehouse Receipt (EWR) system in the province.
